French Forties sofa and pair of club chairs by Jean-Charles Moreux. Moreux was an architect, painter and designer. He participated in the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratives et Industriels Modernes, the pivotal exhibition which later launched the term Art Deco. His furniture was sometimes massive but always elegant and his architecture and interiors included the apartment of Helena Rubenstein, Robert de Rothschild, And Chateau Maulny in Sarthe. His exhibition participation included the UAM in 1931 and the 1939 Salon of Societe des Artistes Decorateurs.
